Dyslexia & Neurodivergence

Coming Home to Yourself After Years of Doubting Who You Are...
Dyslexia & Neurodivergence are not flaws.
They are different ways of thinking, processing, learning and experiencing the world.
Yet for many people who were misunderstood — especially during childhood, school or early environments these differences can become tangled with shame, self-doubt and the belief that something is wrong with them. Over time, this can shape how you see yourself.
Not because of who you are, but because of the messages you received about your abilities, your way of thinking and your place in the world. Many people spend years adapting, masking or working harder than others just to feel accepted, capable and enough. Here comes the big but - the problem was never the way your mind works. Often, it is the lack of understanding, support and acceptance you experienced along the way.
A personal understanding
I understand how deeply being misunderstood can impact the way we see ourselves. Being diagnosed with dyslexia later in life gave me a new understanding of myself — not because I had changed, but because I finally had an explanation for experiences I had carried for years.I understand the relief of realising you are not lacking ability, intelligence or potential — you may simply have spent years trying to succeed in ways that were not designed for the way your mind works.
How this can feel
You may recognise:
-
Doubting yourself or your abilities
-
Overthinking and second-guessing decisions
-
Feeling overwhelmed, mentally exhausted or like things take more effort
-
Feeling different, behind or “not enough”
-
Comparing yourself to others
-
Hiding parts of yourself to fit in
-
Struggling to trust your own way of thinking
-
Replay conversations in your head
-
Excessively worrying about getting things wrong
-
Carry shame from past experiences especially from school or work environments
-
Feel like your always trying to prove yourself
-
Highly sensitive to criticism or rejection
These experiences are not a reflection of your worth. They are often the result of years spent adapting to environments that did not fully understand or support the way you naturally operate.
Reconnecting with yourself
This work is about helping you rebuild a more trusting relationship with yourself.
Together, we focus on:
Building self-trust
Strengthening your self-worth
Letting go of shame and self-doubt
Quietening your inner critic
Feeling safe to be yourself
Confidence in your own abilities
Heeling the impact of past experiences
Understanding your unique way of thinking
Releasing limiting beliefs and old patterns
Creating greater clarity and direction so you can feel more grounded, confident and comfortable being yourself.
More accepting. More trusting. More you.
How we work together - everyone’s journey is different!
The support we focus on will depend on your experiences, your goals and what feels most helpful for you.
My work draws from different approaches, including:
-
RTT® (Rapid Transformational Therapy)
-
HeartHealing®
-
Coaching, mentoring and integration support
-
Hypnosis somatic practices and energy work
Together, we may explore different areas:
-
The mind — understanding thoughts, beliefs and patterns that may have influenced how you see yourself
-
Your relationship with yourself — developing self-trust, acceptance and confidence in your own way of thinking and being.
-
Everyday life — turning awareness into practical changes, choices and actions that support you moving forward.
The focus is not on changing who you are.It is about helping you understand yourself, trust yourself and create a life that works with who you are.
What can begin to shift
Clients often experience:
-
Less self-doubt and mental noise
-
A quite inner critic
-
Less anxiety and overwhelm
-
Healthier boundaries
-
Greater emotional resilience
-
More confidence in their decisions
-
A stronger sense of identity
-
Greater self-acceptance
-
More trust in their own abilities
-
More freedom to be themselves without constantly masking or comparing.
It becomes less about trying to fit yourself into expectations that were never designed for you…and more about recognising and embracing the person you already are.
If this speaks to you
You do not need to become someone else. You do not need to work harder to prove your worth.
You may simply need space to understand yourself differently and reconnect with the strengths that have always been there. Whether you are looking to shift subconscious beliefs through RTT®, explore deeper personal patterns through HeartHealing® or receive ongoing support through coaching, we will focus on what best supports you and where you are on your journey.
Because lasting change is not just something you understand, it s something you begin to feel, experience and live.
A final note
You are not behind
You are not lacking
You are not too much or not enough
You may have spent years adapting to a world that did not always understand the way you think, learn and experience life.
Now is your opportunity to reconnect with your strengths, trust yourself and move forward with greater confidence.
If you recognise yourself in this and feel ready to understand yourself differently, I would love to support you. Book a complimentary discovery call and we can explore what you’ve been experiencing, what you’d like to change and how I can best support you on your journey.
